I’m late checking in today. I hope you all are already at your writing stations and working away. I’ve been babysitting the doggies since 5:30 a.m. Mei, the golden retriever is a naughty nine-week old. Jean Luc, also known as Little Man, is very anxious when his people are away. So, needless to say, a lot of petting, cajoling, and door opening to the yard was needed, nine of which aids my writer brain. Now, I’ll be off to the cafe to do some concentrating and get a new perspective. I’m working on a lecture for UNC Charlotte based on my Losing Esmeralda essay on cultural stereotypes of Romani women which appeared in Drunken Boat last year. And a certain novel I gnawing at my brain.
Do you have writing plans for today? If you are writing, please don’t stop to tell us about them. You can post a progress report in the comments later. If your aren’t writing yet, give us your best excuse.
Love and joy to all of you this Presidents Day.
